Alarms and reminders
My alarm didn’t ring (especially on Samsung phones)
Some phones — Samsung in particular — put apps to sleep to save battery, which can stop alarms. Please try these steps:
- Set battery to Unrestricted. Open your phone’s Settings › Apps › Sadho › Battery and choose Unrestricted.
- Take Sadho out of Sleeping apps. In Settings › Battery (or Device care › Battery) › Background usage limits, make sure Sadho is not in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps. You can add it to Never sleeping apps.
- Use the app’s own checks. In Sadho, open Profile › Alarms & reliability and tap each Fix button it shows. They take you to the right setting on your phone.
- Check permissions and volume. Make sure notifications and Alarms & reminders are allowed for Sadho, and that the alarm volume is up.
Menu names vary a little between phone models and Android versions.
Still not working? In Profile › Alarms & reliability, open Recent alarm events, tap Copy, and paste it into an email to support@sadho.in with your phone model and Android version. The log never leaves your phone unless you send it like this.
Your account and sync
Is my practice saved if I lose my phone?
With a free account, yes. Your practice is synced to your account, so it is the same on your phone and at sadho.in/app, and it is there again when you sign in on a new phone.
Voice training and your location are never uploaded, so they stay on the old phone. Tap counting you do without an account stays on your phone and is not synced.
How do I move to a new phone?
Install Sadho on the new phone and sign in with the same email address. Your synced practice appears there. Train Voice again on the new phone.
Voice counting
How do Voice training and calibration work?
Voice counting listens through the microphone and counts each repetition of your mantra. Training teaches it how your chanting sounds: follow the on-screen steps and chant as you normally would.
All listening happens on your phone. No audio is ever recorded or stored — Sadho keeps only numbers that describe features of the sound, and they are never uploaded.
Why do I have to train again with earphones?
Different microphones hear your voice differently, so Sadho keeps a separate training for each one. The phone’s built-in microphone and an earphone or headset microphone are trained separately.
Voice is missing counts or counting extra
Train again in a quiet place with the microphone you actually use, keep a steady distance from the phone, and chant at your usual pace and volume. If it still struggles, Tap, Rhythm or Mala mode are reliable alternatives.
Quiet mode
What is quiet mode?
Quiet mode is optional. It turns on Do Not Disturb during a session so calls and notifications don’t interrupt your practice, and restores your previous setting afterwards. The first time, Android asks you to allow Sadho Do Not Disturb access. If you don’t allow it, everything else still works.
Languages
Which languages does Sadho support?
Sadho is available in nine languages: English, हिन्दी (Hindi), ਪੰਜਾਬੀ (Punjabi), मराठी (Marathi), বাংলা (Bengali), ગુજરાતી (Gujarati), தமிழ் (Tamil), తెలుగు (Telugu) and ಕನ್ನಡ (Kannada).
Data and privacy
Do I need an account?
Not for Tap counting with the 10 built-in mantras. A free Sadho account (your email and a 6-digit code; 18+ only) unlocks everything else and keeps your practice the same on your phone and at sadho.in/app.
How do I delete my data?
In the app, go to Profile › Danger zone › Delete account. This removes your account and its synced data. Without an account, delete your data on the phone or uninstall the app. See Delete your data.
What does Sadho learn about how I use it?
We look at totals — for example how many people sign up and which features are used — to improve Sadho. Detailed usage events are sent only if you turn on Help improve Sadho in Profile. See our privacy policy.
